Dr. Cartier, who began his tenure at Monsanto in 2012, leads a global team of data scientists within information technology for the company’s operations, which span about 60 countries. He is responsible for working cross functionally with business executives and IT strategy leads to enable Monsanto’s digital transformation to an information-based company and delivering IT capabilities across all of Monsanto’s global business. Dr. Cartier is a member of Monsanto’s Data Science Center of Excellence Leadership with a focus on elevating the data science acumen across the enterprise.
Prior to joining Monsanto, he held a tenure-track position as a Mathematics professor in Montevallo, AL as well as operated his own analytics consulting firm. He holds a Doctorate degree in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi where he currently serves as Vice President of the St. Louis Alumni Club. He additionally sits on the University of Missouri Data Science Industry Advisory Board where he is helping shape the direction of their program.
Dr. Cartier resides in the city St Louis with his wife, Dana and daughter, Alexandria. He spends his free time, golfing, playing soccer, beer tasting, and watching the Ole Miss Rebels take the football field every fall. He also enjoys volunteering with the Greater St. Louis United Way.
