Catherine Bannister is the chief talent officer (CTO) for Technology at Deloitte Consulting LLP and the global technology talent leader for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL). She joined Deloitte in 1994 and has held a wide range of leadership positions internally and with some of Deloitte’s largest accounts serving state governments.
In her over twenty years of client service, Catherine has implemented solutions that enable enhanced assistance to our country’s neediest individuals, including the elderly, children, and those with disabilities. She has worked in 11 states and numerous counties to automate the case management, benefit distribution, and program performance analysis of social services and financial assistance programs.
In addition to client service, Catherine has made meaningful contributions to many of Deloitte’s significant strategic initiatives, through integration efforts related to the acquisitions of BearingPoint’s State, Local, and Education practice and of Übermind and the subsequent creation of Deloitte Digital, and by coordinating the opening of Deloitte University, the firm’s leadership development center in Westlake, Texas.
Her talent leadership responsibilities extend to more than 20,000 technology consultants across multiple regions including the US, India, and Mexico, as well as the many DTTL member firms. Catherine has served on the advisory boards for two Deloitte Consulting LLP chief executive officers (CEOs) and actively participates in national committees focused on topics such as inclusion, campus recruiting, and culture.
Catherine has consistently demonstrated her passion for the attraction, development, and professional growth of IT practitioners through her leadership and delivery of innovative learning programs at all career levels and her commitment to developing the world’s best leaders through apprenticeship, mentorship, and coaching.
Catherine was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, and currently resides in Chicago, IL. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from Loyola University of Chicago, her master’s degree in organizational communication from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, and completed her certification in leadership coaching at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
